Father’s Day Gift Guide 2020
Let’s face it. We all have a habit of waiting until that last minute to get our fathers a gift that’s worthwhile. It’s kind of unfair, seeing as they had to deal with us while we were growing up. With Father’s Day just around the corner, we are going to walk you through a few gift ideas that any tech savvy dad will love.
Smart Reusable Notebook
I know, the idea sounds weird. Hear me out. What do both of your parents do that you don’t? Write things down to never be seen again. It seems that we are always trying to get our parents to be more tech savvy. So why not get them this hybrid notebook? Your dad can still take notes about his day to day activities with a pen, and maybe one day you will be able to get him to actually upload it to the cloud. We know the latter will never happened, but hey, you tried.
Tile Mate
How many memories do you have of your father frantically searching for his keys at least four times a week. With the Tile Mate, your dad will never lose his keys again. I remember when this product first came out. They were in such short supply that I had to pay twenty dollars over retail to get one from a phone store. That was several years ago. Tile has come a long way. During the Father’s Day cookout, download the Tile app on your dad’s dated iPhone, and watch the magic happen. He will be blown away with never having to run through the house before work looking for his keys again.
Fitbit Alta HR
If your father is anything like mine, he has high blood pressure from dealing with you for so many years. Get him this Fitbit Alta HR. It is a smart device that will keep track of his heart rate throughout the day. He can even set fitness goals through various health apps, and make a contest out of it. This is a surefire way to help your dad stay in good shape and keep up on his heart health.
Roomba
How often do you go visit your dad? Does he keep up on his house the way he should? As the offspring of the divorce generation, I can tell you first hand that if your dad is single, it’s probably because of his floors. A Roomba is always a good way to keep your dad’s place clean without having to clean it yourself. The Roomba may be a little pricey, but in the long run, it will keep your dad cleaner and more healthy, so it’s worth it.
Ring Doorbell
I personally am not a fan of Ring, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t get a video doorbell for my dad. The highlight of my retired dad’s day is waiting for packages to come in the mail. With the Ring doorbell, I can now give my dad a way to enjoy the moment as soon as the device detects that the UPS truck has parked in front of his complex. The Ring doorbell is also a great way to keep your father safe, as he can monitor surprise visitors.
Don’t Blow It
If you’re reading this article, father’s day is probably less than a week away. Why else would you be frantically searching on the internet for gifts. The five products we went over are simple to set up, and will make your dad smile. Make the old man happy. He raised you for years, and was there for you when you needed help.
